2014 National Corvette Homecoming in Bowling Green KY: Where Cars are Superstars
The 2014 National Corvette Homecoming held at
the Sloan Convention Center last July 17-19 was once again a huge success as it
brought together more owners and enthusiasts all over the country to meet and
build new networks and friendships, binding them with their mutual love of
Corvettes. On its 33rd year, the event was even bigger and better with
more activities and more Bowling Green KY local vendors who were given the
opportunity to feature their products and services.
This is probably the biggest car event in the
country and each year, new ideas and custom designs are born through
collaborations and ideas of Corvette owners and enthusiasts. Judging for the
winners in each category for the car shows is said to be quite difficult
because of the phenomenal creativity and efforts, but more than just winning,
participants say they just have fun and enjoy the camaraderie amongst fellow
enthusiasts.
There’s more to the Corvette Homecoming than
car shows. It is becoming more of a family affair as participants come with
their families to also enjoy the various activities and the food fair that seem
to just come naturally with it! Vendors offer great stuff for children and
women including rainbow loom bands and locally designed dresses. This year, an
owner of a local boutique organized a fashion show and it was a great success
as she said she cannot afford the kind of publicity she gained in any other
event since the Corvette Homecoming had audiences who came from all parts of
the country. This event definitely gives a huge economic advantage to the city,
and also giving
greater opportunities to sellers and buyers of Bowling Green KY homes for

The National Corvette Homecoming was first held
in 1981 as a celebration of moving the assembly of Corvettes from St. Louis, MO
to the Bowling Green Assembly Plant which is now the one and only
assembler of the car. The 3-day event happening every July allows owners to
display their cars with pride and also gain more Corvette knowledge through
instructional and interesting seminars. The event also features a rare
opportunity to find parts and products that will improve a Corvette car.
